Teaching your dog the skills they need to become a confident and happy family member.
Teaching your dog the skills they need to become a confident and happy family member.
We know that getting a new puppy is one of the most exciting moments in your life. Whether you are an experienced dog owner or brand new to it, sometimes our puppies need some guidance and structure to build confidence and learn how to live harmoniously with their new family. This is where puppy training comes in - and we are here to help!
The puppy training we provide is all one-to-one, in the comfort of your own home. We don't currently offer puppy group classes because we know that we can provide a more dedicated and individual training programme when we focus on one family at a time.
We do recognise the importance of socialisation and aim to hold at least one or two of our sessions outdoors once your puppy is fully vaccinated and ready to begin exploring.
We only use force-free, kind methods of dog training, utilising reward-based dog training practices as much as possible. We don't endorse any aversive dog training tools such as prong or shock collars, spray bottles, or fear-based methods.
Our focus is on helping your puppy grow into a happy, confident dog who lives in harmony with their family. For this to work, we need to use training methods which encourage confidence and enable you to develop a strong bond with trust and excellent communication at the heart.
Our puppy training course is bespoke to you and your family, but the majority of families we work with tend to follow a similar training plan of 4 or 6 sessions.
We will work with you to train your dog yourself, building confidence and developing a strong bond that is based on trust and communication.
We will help you to train your puppy so they can grow into the happy adult dog you imagined. We will set the boundaries early, and help your dog to understand what the house rules are. We can teach some useful behaviours such as sit, lie down, go to bed, drop and stay, as well as really important behaviours such as having reliable recall and relaxed walking on a lead.
2 hours | £80
Includes an initial call and a follow-up email with training we discussed.
Sometimes dog owners just need some reassurance or help with one particular issue. Some people choose this option before getting a puppy to help set them up for success, reviewing all of the do's and don'ts in your puppy's first few vital weeks with their new family.
4 Sessions | £150
1 hour each
Many owners choose 4 sessions initially and then tack 2 extra onto the end if they feel they need it. This is 4 x 1 hour sessions in your own home covering all of your puppy life skills from toilet training, sleeping in their bed, sit, down, drop, leave it, some loose lead walking and recall.
6 Sessions | £210
1 hour each
Similar to the 4-week course, the 6-week course provides more opportunity to progress new behaviours along. For example, we might practice recall in different locations with different distractions. 6-weeks gives a bit more time to practice, perfect and progress our newly learned skills.
We usually offer puppy training in blocks of 4 or 6 sessions, but we are able to also offer one-off sessions if you just need a refresh or to work on something small. Just get in touch and we would be happy to provide more information.
